Another difference between humans and animals is LANGUAGE. All living creatures communicate in one way or another, through sound, smell, touch, taste, color or posture.
(bird singing: โThis is my territory!โ)
(beeโs colors: โI sting!โ)
(peacockโs feathers: โHey baby!โ)
(flowerโs smell: โIโve got nectar!โ)
(snails smooching with their tentacles)
We humans have definitely refined communicating by making sounds! There are about a quarter million words in the English language alone!
And whatโs more: we solidified language in SCRIPTURE.
Yiri: โI must admit Iโve never seen animals do that!โ
Me: โHurray! Finally a truly exclusive human trait! The ability to convey concepts (both concrete and abstract) by turning them into SYMBOLS.
Yiri: โWait a minuteโฆ We have taught dolphins and apes to communicate with symbols, too!โ
Me: โOkay - but they had to learn it from us! So that doesnโt count.โ
I wonder if any other animals swearโฆ
